Those of you of a certain age may remember Red & Ned, competitive rambunctious twins who appeared in a couple commercials 20 years ago. Copywriter Ross Buchanan and I came up with these characters to help sell a certain popular processed cheese food. And while the boys have faded from broadcast, they still maintain a minor popularity among the Saturday morning cartoon set. Now they are moving on to grander things, namely, world peace and love. After all, we are all brothers and sisters in this world (in evolutionary terms, of course) and if these two knuckleheads can come together, then so should we all.
Dave Straus spent 30 years in ad agencies in Chicago, Seattle and Tokyo doing fun (and some not-so-fun) work for various clients. He now leads the creative at NTT Research, Inc., a fundamental research company focusing on quantum physics, cryptography and biodigital twin development. Their mission is literally to save the earth. Which seems especially appropriate today.
