White Ink on Ocean Blue Unisex t-shirt
Design by Kathleen Hinkel
Artist statement: This shirt is in memory of recently deceased Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh and a nod to the Grateful Dead song Box of Rain which he wrote the music to as his own father was dying. The shirt reimagines the song to be a jingle for a pain ointment called Rain. The lyrics were written by Robert Hunter, who once noted that what he meant by "Box of Rain" was "the world we live on." Phil Lesh called Box of Rain his most well-known and loved song and was often asked to dedicate it to those who are recovering, sick, dying or deceased. RIP Phil.
